What's Happening with Celtica? Apologies – it’s been a while. There’s a lot that’s gone on, and lots more to come. Let’s recap:
- Paul and Allison are working on a special father/daughter CD that features music the two of them would ordinarily do as “Celtica Lite.” There’s a fair amount of recording already done, with still more on the way. If all goes well, we’d like to see this out by March 2017.
- Christmas… Yes, we’re always thinking about Christmas! We’ve been dedicating a lot of studio time to one of our favorite carols, “Christ Child’s Lullaby.” It really sounds good! Like, really good! This, and one or two others, will be released as downloadable singles and may eventually be part of a larger Christmas CD project. That depends on you! Look for these around Thanksgiving.
- We’re all over…Belleville, Alton, St. Louis…and we’ve been threatening to actually have performances in these locations. Wait no longer! 2017 looks to be a busy year, with negotiations open right now for a return to Belleville for a March concert, a debut performance in the Central West End of St. Louis with the University City Orchestra in late spring/early summer, and a return performance with the Great Rivers Choral Society (likely in March, 2018).
- Can’t wait for 2017?... Catch us at The Abbey in Belleville on Sept 16th…Walker’s Bluff Winery, near Carbondale, for the SW Illinois Celtic Fest on October 1st…the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows for their Way of Lights on December 21st…or any of our regular sessions.
We’re always looking for new session mates. Are you interested in traditional Celtic music?... Enjoy it, but aren’t sure you can keep up?... Come join us anyway. Sit in, experience a session – a congenial socially musical event that revolves as much around the friendships as it does the music. We think you’ll be hooked!
